Description
This is healing herbal blend can be used in several ways
A sitz bath – from the German word “sitzen,” which means to sit. And, you guessed it, a sitz bath is a pool of water that you sit in, with only your hips and bottom submerged. You can take a sitz bath using a special basin designed for this purpose and placed securely on a toilet seat, or you can fill up your bathtub with a small amount of water and create a sitz bath that way. Using this blend in the water is very healing and soothing and aids recovery to the area.
The benefits to a sitz bath are:
- Improves blood flow to the perineal area, which reduces swelling and inflammation and promotes healing.
- Relaxes the muscles in the perineum, which can relieve the soreness of a tear or episiotomy.
- Soothes the tenderness that may come after birth.
- Relieves the itching that often accompanies stitches.
- Keeps you clean helping to lower the risk of infection.
A sitz bath can also help ease pain and itching from haemorrhoids — another postpartum symptom you may be experiencing.
Diluted to clean the cord stump and stitches – These healing herbs can also be prepared and soaked onto a cotton wool pad to be used for cleaning around your babies cord stump and your stitches both c section, tear and episiotomy.
As a soak for ‘padsicles’ – A padsicle is a postnatal must have item! A padsicle is a soaked, chilled maternity/ sanitary pad. This soothes swelling, inflammation, itching and provides pain relief. When soaked with the postnatal herbal blend it makes the pad not only soothing but healing and prevents infection. When you prepare your pads soak them with a spray bottle or lightly pour according to your need and put them in a freezer bag in the freezer. You wont regret it!
